Welcome Letter


Hello Everyone!

Welcome to 4th grade! I am thrilled for year-long journey with you and your student(s). I truly believe it takes a community to raise our students! I will use Google Classroom and Remind App to relay important dates and information, post our classroom photos, student’s work and also provide at home learning opportunities. I am looking forward to an amazing year!

If you would like to keep up on our day to day classroom excitement, please follow up our class on Google Classroom. It is my goal this year to, not only give your child the best academic and social 4th-grade experience, but to also create a warm classroom community for caregivers. Being able to see/take part in our activities is just one way I plan on building this community. Our Curriculum night will be on Sept. 6thinvited to family members and students. Here we will discuss all the exciting learning opportunities and projects students will be working on. I would like your child to log in to log in to their Google Calendar account and introduce themselves by answering the three questions that will be posted on Google Classroom.

An App for Organizing My Life

What is the need?  I admit I am not organized. I do not know how to organize documents to place in correct folders, how to take down and save notes with the use of technology and to give myself reminders on my phone to stay organized. In order to help my students stay organized, the teacher needs to learn and model the behavior first. The need is what resources can I use to organize my notes, reminders, and schedule all at once. The problem?     Subscribing to  Technology for Teachers and Students  has allowed me to learn more about Google Calendar and the diverse technology resources to help make life easier to plan for myself.                              Many teachers are constantly looking for ways to assess students effectively and efficiently. To ensure that the 21 st -century learner is comprehending the material using a variety of assessments to check for understanding, technology can make a huge impact. It is extremely difficult to hide from technology, it is everywhere and it has made its way into the classrooms all around the world. Research: (Safe Social Media Communtiy Platform)

            In this week’s blog, I had learned about a social media community platform from Mr. Tullock, a Twitter user, called GoBubble. In his classroom, he uses social media within the classroom community for students to learn from one another and to teach students digital citizenship. Schools can use GoBubble to communicate with other children around the world. We need to accept the fact that our kids love social media. For schools to provide students an opportunity to use safe alternative social media to collaborate on school projects and send messages on the app can help teach students the importance of safety on social media. The difference between GoBubble and Facebook is that schools sign students up, with parental approval rather than children signing themselves up.
