Welcome Letter

Hello Everyone! Welcome to 4th grade! I am thrilled for year-long journey with you and your student(s). I truly believe it takes a community to raise our students! I will use Google Classroom and Remind App to relay important dates and information, post our classroom photos, student’s work and also provide at home learning opportunities. I am looking forward to an amazing year! If you would like to keep up on our day to day classroom excitement, please follow up our class on Google Classroom. It is my goal this year to, not only give your child the best academic and social 4th-grade experience, but to also create a warm classroom community for caregivers. Being able to see/take part in our activities is just one way I plan on building this community. Our Curriculum night will be on Sept. 6 th invited to family members and students. Here we will discuss all the exciting learning opportunities and projects students will be working on. I would like your child to log in to log in...

Assistive Technology

I.               What is the need?             I will be a 4 th grade writing reading teacher next academic school year. It is truly remarkable to see a child’s growth in writing over the course of a school year. Students build stamina throughout the school year writing diverse pieces. Laura Braga a 4 th grade teacher and blogger suggested Popplet. J.F. is on an IEP for reading and writing and he currently has a learning disability in reading and writing. The usual response from this s...

Some students would not raise their hand at all and some students would just say I need help without asking any specific question. The need was to find an organized way in which students could wait their turn while understanding when their turn was to ask for help and be able to ask a specific question. Recently, I discovered a resource called ClassroomQue. This tool is great for students who don’t usually raise their hand. I had learned this app by reaching out to Brad Weinstein, an educational leader and co-founder of hacking school discipline on twitter. A problem you are trying to solve? The problem I am trying to solve is that recently many students are having a difficult time being independent because the only individual who they believe will help them is the teacher. There are many resources students can use like peers in...
